Perl
Perl is an amazing string parser. The first time you look at perl code you wonder who sneezed on the keyboard. It seems they wanted to do as much as possible with as few keystrokes as possible. Once you learn it it feels a little bit like your doing magic. There seems to be little limit to what you can do with perl. While working with HP I used perl scrips to perform a variety of electrical tests on servers. Now I did not do it alone. When I arrived there they were already using perl srcripts for this testing. I just devised a way to make them significantly more efficent.
